City of Stone Mountain hosts Annual Back to School Bash

Stone Mountain, GA – On Saturday, July 22, the City of Stone Mountain will host its annual Back to School Bash at the Pavilion in Stone Mountain Village. This event provides free school supplies to approximately 1,000 local children prior to returning to school for the year.

Volunteers from the Stone Mountain Rotary Club and the Stone Mountain Woman’s Club assist with distributing the school supplies on the day of the event. “We couldn’t do it without our helping hands. Organizing the supplies and distributing them is an all day effort and we are extremely grateful to those who assist us in these efforts,” says Mailman.

Contributions are welcome.  Checks should be made payable to the “City of Stone Mountain” and designated “Back to School Bash”. The mailing address is 875 Main Street, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. Contributions received before July 15 will be used to purchase supplies this year.

The City of Stone Mountain is located at the base of Stone Mountain, the largest exposed granite dome in North America. The city was founded in 1839 and currently has over 6,000 residents. The city is known for its historic and walkable village center and its growing art scene.
